Coker’s latest innovation

There are many collector car tires, but very few can match the vintage look of Coker tires.

The Coker Tire Company continues to develop new products, adding more custom options in its catalog. The company’s latest product is the G78-15 bias-ply tire, which is a four-ply polyester tire.

This American innovation is suited to OE guidelines, allowing for easy installation. It is perfect for restorations and custom applications.

The G78-15 bias-ply tire has an extra wide whitewall, which would be perfect for any hot rod.

IHRA works with Top Sportsman and Top Dragster for Nitro Jam 2010

IHRA works with Top Sportsman and Top Dragster for Nitro Jam 2010

The International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) has recently announced that its Top Sportsman and Top Dragster will be featured during the professional elimination rounds at all Nitro Jam events in 2010.

Since the 1970s, the IHRA and Sportsman Drag Racing have worked together and in 2010 the relationship will come into fruition in 2010 as the IHRA will try to give back to its roots and placing its fastest sportsman classes at the stage they deserve.

Nitro Jam will showcase the first round of the main event eliminations during the professional rounds on the first round of the main event eliminations during the professional rounds on the first event day. The organizers have also created an “Elite 8” program for the top qualifiers in each of the classes, which will take place during the second day of the event.

“Figuring out who has the quickest car in their class is what drivers live for. Bracket racing is fun and provides a level playing field for everyone, but there is just something magical about letting these competitors take the gloves off to see who has the baddest car on the property,” explained Skooter Peaco, VP of Race Operations. “It is interesting that, even with the many changes that have been made over the past year, we would take a page out of the IHRA history books.”

A Lamborghini Countach hot rod

A Lamborghini Countach hot rod

Benedict Radcliffe has spent five months building a Lamborghini Countach hot rod, which he hopes to sell for £40,000.

The model is 6ft wide, 14ft long and is made from steel rods that are as a little thicker than a pencil.

“The Lambo allowed me to use all the skills I have learnt from my previous work as an architect, fabricator and artist,” said Radcliffe. “It uses really complex curves and was a real labour of love.”

Radcliffe is a qualified architect, who spent several weeks developing blueprints for the model. He even custom-designed the car to make room for Pirelli tires.

“It is an iconic car and people are intrigued by the idea of turning something so fast into a wireframe model that goes nowhere,” said Radcliffe. “When people saw it on the streets of London they jumped all over it and got inside. I was astonished because they would not treat a real car in that way. I would love a real Lambo but I’m not brash enough. They get a lot of attention when they are being driven around and I’m too shy for that.”

The original Lamborghini Countach was built from 1974 to 1989.

GM to manufacture a hot rod station wagon

GM to manufacture a hot rod station wagon

General Motors (GM) is going to manufacture a hot rod station wagon, according to the company vice chairman Bob Lutz.

The upcoming hot rod wagon will be 556-horsepower CTS-V version of the new Cadillac luxury hauler. This was confirmed by Lutz to Car and Driver Magazine.

Analysts say that it will only be a simple manufacturing process, and it could claim a sizable piece of the target demographic. However, it will not help GM’s campaign for fuel economy.

Auto reviews say that the CTS-V sedan has a powerful engine and can go from zero to 60 miles in less than four seconds. The wagon version of the vehicle also has a unique appeal.
